Born in England, I grew up in Canada, and have also lived in the USA and New Zealand. I have travelled a great deal, in the South Pacific, Europe, and to Russia. Travel stimulates and feeds the soul, the intellect, and the imagination, all of which are part of the artist within.
All my life I have been making art, in one medium or another. My schooling consists of a Diploma, painting major, from the Montreal Museum School of Fine Arts, some months at Cotnoir- Copponi School of Dress-making, and a BFA cum laude in Crafts with a major in enamelling and a minor in metals . I have also taken many workshop courses to add to my knowledge. I started sewing as a child, learnt weaving in New Zealand, and I draw all the time. Fairly recently I studied at the Packard Art Studio in Los Altos California, as well as taking courses at Stanford University. I have taught in both New Zealand and in Canada. My art is in collections in Canada, the US, New Zealand and in Britain.
My work has been primarily in metals for more than twenty-five years, but I have returned to my roots in the last nine or so years, painting much more, and have begun to make small sculptures in metal. I think all the things I have spent my life learning are coming together, and I believe that they will begin to blend together.
Regardless, my work will always come from my heart, my brain, and my gut.
